About this test
Growth hormone is released in pulses, so a single random level tells you very little. It is measured under a stimulation protocol when deficiency is suspected, or a suppression protocol when excess is, both of which involve timed samples taken at the centre.
What it measures
- Growth hormone at each timed point of the protocol
A note on results. A single test is one part of a clinical picture, not a diagnosis. Discuss your report with a qualified doctor, who will read it alongside your history and examination.
