About this test
Measures the immune response to TB-specific antigens. Unlike the skin test, prior BCG does not cause a false positive, which matters greatly in a population where BCG is routine. It detects infection, not active disease — a positive still needs a chest X-ray. The sample requires special tubes and prompt incubation.
