About this test
Covers the extractable nuclear antigens, each tied to a particular pattern of disease. Anti-Ro and anti-La matter especially in pregnancy, because they cross the placenta and can affect the baby's heart, so they are checked in women with connective tissue disease planning to conceive.
What it measures
- Anti-Ro (SSA) and anti-La (SSB)
- Anti-Sm and anti-RNP
- Anti-Scl-70 and anti-Jo-1
A note on results. A single test is one part of a clinical picture, not a diagnosis. Discuss your report with a qualified doctor, who will read it alongside your history and examination.
