About this test
Brucellosis causes fever that comes and goes for weeks, with sweats and joint pain, and is picked up from unpasteurised dairy and close animal contact. It is treatable with a specific antibiotic combination, so it is worth identifying rather than treating blindly.
What it measures
- Brucella agglutination titre
- IgG and IgM where indicated
A note on results. A single test is one part of a clinical picture, not a diagnosis. Discuss your report with a qualified doctor, who will read it alongside your history and examination.
