About this test
Hydatid disease comes from dog tapeworm eggs and forms slow-growing cysts, most often in liver or lung. The antibody supports what the scan suggests, which matters because a hydatid cyst must not be biopsied or punctured casually.
What it measures
- Anti-Echinococcus IgG
A note on results. A single test is one part of a clinical picture, not a diagnosis. Discuss your report with a qualified doctor, who will read it alongside your history and examination.
